Savvy skiers and snowboarders ski Winter Park for smart savings. Let’s see you say that 5 times in a row really super fast! (Ha.) But Seriously, our local team at Winter Park Lodging Company has the inside scoop on how to save you some dough on your upcoming ski trips to Winter Park this 2016/17 season. Check out our top 5 tips on smart savings at Winter Park below.
#1 Gotta Get Up To Get Down
Winter Park Resort offers discounts on ski passes and lift tickets in a tiered sales promotion. That means the earlier you buy your pass, the more you’ll save. Although there are numerous passes available, we highly recommend these two Four Day Passes as the best value for those planning on skiing less than a week at Winter Park Resort.
The 16/17 Tethered Four Pass for $179. That’s for 4 days of skiing and snowboarding; however, there are 3 holiday blackout periods (12/23/16-1/7/17, 1/14-18/17, and 2/18-20/17.)
The 16/17 Freestyle Four Pass for $239. This pass is for those who want 4 days of skiing and snowboarding plus NO blackout dates. This is how you can play over your kids’ holiday breaks!
Note that these passes are for individual use and strictly non-transferable.
Borrowing Sticks & Boards
Many of our guests find it convenient to rent skis/snowboards and boots, whether they don’t have their own equipment or want to demo new high performance products. That is why we’ve partnered with two local rental companies that we consider to be the best in Winter Park: Epic Mountain Sports and Winter Park Resort Rentals. Both companies pride themselves on customer service and diverse inventories that please newcomers to the sport as well as the powder hounds. And the best part? They are able to offer our guests a 20% discount! For those looking for the most ultimate of convenient services, ask us at Winter Park Lodging Company about our Custom Delivery Service. It’s top notch!
Scoring on Many Ways to Play
We’ll bet you’ve probably already started to figure out that our local connections go beyond the ski shops. That’s right. We have a variety of great activity partners that offer our guests discounts here in our very backyard – Winter Park, also known as Colorado’s favorite Playground. Whether it be…
Snow tubing and snowscooting thrills at Colorado Adventure Park,
Snowmobiling tours up to the scenic Continental Divide with Grand Adventures,
Taking your family on a horse-drawn sleigh ride at Devil’s Thumb Ranch,
Shopping and dining at the quaint shopping mall at Cooper Creek Square,
Flying through the woods behind a team of Siberian Huskies with Dog Sled Rides of Winter Park,
Having your breath taken away while on a hot air balloon ride high above the expansive Fraser Valley,
Or all of the above!
Finding Free Ways to Play
While some of the activities we mentioned are quite affordable, we realize that some might be considered “bucket list” activities for some of us. Not to despair! We also know of plenty of FREE (or almost free) activities in the area. Let us tell you where you can…
Twirl around an ice skating rink at no cost and where to get inexpensive ice skate rentals nearby,
Take a snowshoe walk (it really is as easy as walking, just a little more like a duck), through the woods and where to rent the snowshoes,
Go cross-country skiing on nearby groomed trails that we can match to your ability level (Grand Park has a loop that is perfect for beginners and the Fraser River Trail winds along the river between towns),
Try broomball! Yes, we’ll even let you in on where you can play this fun sport.
Getting Around
Wondering about transportation to and around Winter Park? We have partnered with Alamo to offer our guests stellar car rental discounts on a variety of vehicles, including AWD minivans and 4-wheel drive SUVs. (Sure, we have discounts on other vehicles, but we highly recommend driving one of these heavy-duty types in the winter months.)
And for those of you who have perhaps been to Winter Park before, did you know that there is now a year-round free local shuttle? You really don’t have a need for a car here in Winter Park! Plus, we offer on-demand shuttle if you stay at either Zephyr Mountain Lodge or Fraser Crossing/Founders Pointe at the base of Winter Park Resort.
Speaking of transportation modes, although we can’t provide you a discount on a historical train ride ticket, we do want to share the exciting news that the Winter Park Express has returned! You can literally take a train from Denver Union Station in downtown Denver to Winter Park between the dates of January 7-March 26, 2017. Stay for a weekend or a week! (Yes, you can stay just for the day, but to remind you, we are a lodging company!) Click here to learn more.
We hope that even though we are a lodging company, you now see that we believe in giving our guests all the added value benefits we can. To prove it, we also have a dedicated EasySki team to help with guest services such as these we’ve named. Let our team help you plan your getaway. It’s as easy as calling 1-877-536-5910. We look forward to seeing you in Winter Park this ski season!
